I am a biracial international 2T3+PEY Mechanical Engineering University of Toronto student interested in streams of manufacturing and energy as well as entrepreneurship.
At this point in my development, the three values in the world that matter the most to me are efficiency, empathy, and continual learning.
In my Engineering Strategies and Practice course, it was gruesome work at times (compared to the workload I had in high school), but it was in those moments that I realized how important the work that engineers do can be. I knew that if I get the chance to graduate, that I would feel the weight of people’s lives dependent on my commitment to excellence, and keeping that responsibility in mind, I started to really plan out my career up until graduation and beyond.
As of right now, my interests lie in manufacturing and energy & environment. I feel a
moral obligation to do everything I can to help in the fight against global warming and I love learning about the process of how ideas turn into products that get brought into society’s hands. I am looking into getting an internship with a manufacturing company and not only learn the complexities of what goes into manufacturing, but to also perhaps use my energy systems knowledge from University of Toronto to see how their manufacturing plants can miniaturize their carbon footprint. Once building up this toolbox of experience, if I have the proper funding, I plan to open my own business and create my ideas in my own manufacturing plant with efficient greenhouse gas emission.
